The Power of In-Person Care

Assessment and Treatment in the Clinic

In today's fast-paced world, virtual healthcare has become increasingly popular.  While telehealth offers undeniable convenience, there are significant advantages to seeking assessment and treatment in a physical clinic setting. Here's why in-person care can be the key to unlocking a more comprehensive and successful healthcare experience.

The Value of a Hands-On Approach:

Many conditions require a physical examination to provide a complete picture. In a clinic setting, healthcare professionals can perform a thorough assessment, including:

  • Palpation: Feeling for musculofascial tension, tenderness, or abnormalities.

  • Range of motion testing: Evaluating joint mobility and potential restrictions.

  • Neurological testing: Assessing reflexes and nerve function.

  • Specialised testing: I use my own system of integrating Neurokinetic testing with global fascial function for a true holistic approach.

These hands-on assessments allow for a more precise diagnosis and a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs,

Building Rapport and Trust:

There's something irreplaceable about face-to-face interaction. A clinic setting allows for a more personal connection between you and your healthcare provider. This can lead to:

  • Improved communication: You can ask questions, express concerns freely, and receive clear explanations directly.

  • Enhanced trust: Meeting your healthcare provider in person fosters a stronger sense of trust and confidence in their expertise.

  • Personalized attention: My undivided attention for the duration of your appointment applies to both in person and virtual bookings.

  • A Multi-Sensory Experience:

Visual cues and body language play a crucial role in diagnosis and treatment. In a clinic, your healthcare provider can:

  • Observe your posture, gait, and facial expressions.

  • Gauge your overall well-being through non-verbal cues.

  • Tailor treatment based on your physical and emotional responses.

These multi-sensory aspects are missing in a virtual setting and can potentially hinder a complete understanding of your condition.

Tailored Treatment Interventions:

A clinic environment provides access to a wider range of treatment modalities. I can implement:

  • Manual therapy: Techniques like massage, fascial release, joint mobilizations, and manipulation can be performed directly on your body.

  • Therapeutic exercises: A personalized exercise program can be demonstrated and supervised in real-time.

Making the Choice: The Right Fit for Your Needs

While in-person care offers tremendous benefits, virtual healthcare can be a valuable tool in certain situations. When choosing your approach, consider factors like:

  • The complexity of your condition.

  • Your personal preferences and comfort level.

  • Your access to transportation and the person you wish to see.

Ultimately, the best healthcare approach is the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

Two heads are always better than one so I offer 1-2-1 consultations for anyone who works with bodies and has some questions regarding a difficult case, advice on treatment methods, guidance on training or rehabilitation or, just a general chat with a colleague.

Many of us work alone and thus get stuck in our heads from time to time and I can certainly relate to this. Dealing with patients, especially those is acute or chronic pain, comes with various responsibilities that can, at times, challenge us all.

Additionally as a business owner for 25 years, I have built 4 clinics over this time from the ground up, employing at one time 10 staff. I can honestly say I have made most, if not all of the mistakes it’s possible to make. Should you have any concerns and feel you need to consult someone experienced and impartial please get in touch.

Please feel free to email me with any questions to see if I can offer any help or assistance.
